Mr. G. Mulholland, who has been postmaster at Palea for the past eight years, has been transferred to Pukekohe. Passengers on Union Airways service to Palmerston North yesterday were Mr Gover for Napier and Master J. Templeton fur Dunedin. Mr. A. E. Dobbie, deputy registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland, has been appointed to succeed Mr. W. S. Jones as registrar of the Supreme Court and clerk of the Magistrate's Court at Wanganui. The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Leader of the New Zealand National Party, arrived in Taihape last night and will address a meeting in the Town Hall, Taihape, to-night. He will attend o garden party arranged by the Taihape branch of the National Parly this afternoon. Wing - Commander L. M. Isitt, Squadron-Leader E. M. F. Grundv. and Major C. W. Free, M.C., were visitors to Wanganui yesterday to examine New Zealand and Royal Air Force candidates, From Wanganui they proceeded by car to Hawera and New Plymouth. Miss Leila A. Huile, M.A., of the staff of the Christchurch Girls’ High School, has been appointed lady principal of Timaru Girls’ High School. Miss Hurle was on the teaching staff of the Now Plymouth Girls’ High School for five years and for the past eight years has been in Christchurch. Last year she was on leave and toured extensively.
