NEW PLYMOUTH TRACKS
TUESDAY’S PREPARATIONS. THE FINAL GALLOPS. Several visitors were present on the New Plymouth tracks on Tuesday morning when for the first time in recent weeks training operations were really interesting. Galloping was done on the outside of the course proper with the pegs in about the middle of the track, writes “Childers” in the Taranaki Herald. Philemup and Kentucky Song ran ; an easy half-mile in 55sec. Philemup | has done well since joining H. ‘ Dulieu’s team. Stretto was out doing light work. She I looks very fit. Oratory was going better than Great Hope at the end of five furlongs in 1.4. Both pleased, it. being a smart effort. Oratory will contest the Taranaki Stakes on Saturday. Surmount hit out. very boldly over three fm longs in 37 3-ssec. He appears rather high strung al. p*?sent. Basra and Wynardo were on terms at the close of five furlongs in 1.7. Noisy Night was not asked to make time over half a mile, occupying 58sec. A smart effort, was registered by Brunhild and Jean Quex, who finished together over half a mile in 51 3-ssec. Brunhild was doing it well al the end, but her companion shaped ell for a novice.
