Mr S. N. Slater has received cabled advice that he has passed the M.Sc. examination with first-class honours in chemistry. Mr Slater, who has been a student at Otago University for the past four years, was a student at the Wanganui Technical College. Friends of Mr Joseph Coulston, of Mosston Road, Castlecliff, will regret to hear of his death, which occurred on January 23 after a short illness. The deceased gentleman was one of the oldest residents of Castlecliff and his kindly nature endeared him to all. He leaves a grown-up family of three’ sons and four daughters, Mr M. J. B. Coulston (London', Mr E. C. Coulston (Petone), Mr Jos. Coulston (Castlecliff) Mrs T. Aitken (Wellington), Mrs N. Teehan (Dannevirke), Mrs J. Dempsey (Wanganui), Miss M. Coulston (Castlecliff).
