WANGANUI CLUB CONTESTS FOR CUPS TWILIGHT MEETING HELD Races comprising the second “legs’for the Pridham and Zinnox Cups were held by the Wanganui Amateui Athletic and Cycling Club on Cook’s Gardens last evening. Results were as follows: 220 Yards (Pridham Cup).—C. V. Evans ( —) 1. D. Ralph (14) 2, L. Burgess (scr.) 3. Winner of series; C. V. Evans. One Mile (Zinnox Cup).—A. Bevege (65) 1, A. Penberthy (65) 2, P. Wallace (60) 3. Winner of series: J. Wallace. Half-mile Cycle.—J. Chalk (65) 1. W. Pidwell (60) 2, W. Beswarick (80) 3. Two-mile Scratch Cycle.—J. Chalk I, J. McCormick 2. No times were taken for any events. Three-mile Race On Wednesday evening a threemile race was held on the Marton Racecourse, in conjunction with thb Marton Agricultural Show. Results were:— J. Main waring (30sec.) 1 G. Bills (scr.) * A W. Edge (15sec.) 3 The time taken was 15min. 36see.
