IN ACTION IN SYDNEY BROMWICH BEATS HENKEL VON (RAMM DEFEATS BUDGE Received Dec. 27, 11.17 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 27. A three-day tennis match, Australia against Germany, was commenced to-day. The Quist versus von Cramm fixture was cancelled to permit the Sydney public to see the world's No. 1 and 2 players, Budge and von Cramm, opposed in an exhibition match. Results were as follows: Bromwich defeated Henkel, 6-1, 6-1, Von Cramm defeated Budge, 6-1, 6-3. Bromwich was superior to Henkel in all departments, with the exception of his service. He forced the German wide with pacy ground shots, and scored winners in a vacant court. Henkel's fastest serves and dropshots were easily returned, while he was repeatedly passed at the net. The exhibition match was a very poor affair. Budge did not exert himself at any stage, and appeared uninterested. Von Cramm served magnificently and was steady in other departments of his game.
