FALL AT INVERCARGILL IT WAS BADLY NEEDED [ Ter Press Association. 1 INVERCARGILL, Dec. 26. The heaviest rainfall on one day for years was experienced in Invercargill during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. on Christmas Day. The total fall was 2.32 inches and the most of it fell in twelve hours. After an extremely hot morning on Friday rain began to fall at 2 p.m. and by early evening there was a steady downpour, which continued till 4 o'clock on Christmas morning. Although the rain was unpleasant for Christmas Eve sh« nr '‘rs, it was badly needed.
