"WAY OUT WEST”
LAUREL AND HARDY STARRED. ' Laurel and Hardy are not portrayed ias bronc-busting cowboys in “Way Out West,” which begins at the Majes- , tic Theatre on Saturday of next week. • Instead they are just a pair of “tenIderhecl” desert miners trying to do a [ good deed for a dead prospector “pard.’* i But they are in a locale of the wiki iand woolly gay nineties, surrounded I by mounted cow-hands, stage coaches, land all the tough men and picturesque atmosphere of the glamorous and advenluresque pioneer limes. “Way Out West.” has a tuneful musical background reminiscent of the gay nineties. Sharon Lynne, cleverly carrying Ihc feminine lead, is impressive as the dance hall nightingale and has a most amusing old-time gal chorus. The Avalon Four, singers and instrumentalists, score a hit with their, number. James Finlayson, always a favourite comic «with Laurel and Hardy, gives an outstanding performance and special mention is merited Iby Rosina Lawrence and Stanley I Fields of the fine supporting cast. ' Annabella—Girl Scout. ■ The first Girl Scout enrolled In [France was Jean Charpentier, other- : \vise Annabella. Iler father, who in- ; troouced the Scout movement into [France, was afterwards decorated by. I Lord Baden-Powell.
