TRADE DISCUSSIONS

DOMINION AND AUSTRALIA JOINT STATEMENT TO-DAY [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Dec. 23. Although the trade discussions between members ol the Australian trade delegation and representatives of the New Zealand Government virtually concluded this afternoon, a further conference is to take place to-morrow morning to complete certain formalities. A loint statement will be issued at the conclusion of this meeting by the Australian Minister of Trade and Customs (LieutenantColonel the Hon. T. W. White) and the Minister of Customs in New Zealand (the Hon. Walter Naslj). Colonel White Is to leave Wellington for the South Island by the inter-island express steamer to-mor-row night. His southern itinerary includes a visit to the West Coast. .He wil return to Wellington towards the end of the month and proceed to Auckland via the East Coast. Mr Nash stated to-day that questions outside the trade negotiations, including Pacific shipping and transtasman air service, had yet to be considered.
