KEEN SALE AT PALMERSTON. Competition was keen at the sale ot wool oddments, sheepskins, hides a-nd tallow held at Palmerston North last Thursday by Abraham and Williams Ltd. and values rose for all descriptions except tallow. Values for all grades of wool were firm to id per lb. above last month’s values. There was a rise of from id to 3d per lb. for sheepskins. Cow hides rose id per lb., ox hides were id to id up, and calfskins were firm. There was a further decline in tallow of Is per cwt. The following is the range of values:— Wool: Southdown, lOd to 103 d; fine crossbred, lOid to 103 d; crossbred, 93d to 103 d; fine hoggets, lOid to 103 d; hoggets, lOd to 103 d; crutchings. 7id to 83d; dead, 8d to 93d; L. and P., 4d to sd. Sheepskins: Fine first, 9id to 93d; fine hoggets, 9id to 93d; hoggets, 9d to 93d; three-quarter-full wools, 9d to 93d; quarter-half wools, 9d to 93d; crossbred, damaged, 63d to 73; spring lambs, 8d to Sid; pelts, 4id to 43d; salted pelts, 2s to 2s 3d. Hides: Ox heavy to 7 5-Bd., medium to 73d., light 63d to 7id; cow, heavy 5 7-8 d to 6 3-Bd, medium 6d to 6id; yearlings, 7d to 83d; calf, light first 9d to 9 3-Bd., light second 83d to 9d., cut 7id to 7 5-Bd. Tallow: In drums, first, 14s to 17s; in tins, first, 9s to 13s.
