Preparations for establishing the Pan-American air base at Auckland are well in hand. The. final touches are being put to the landing lights, which are to be placed in Auckland Harbour for the direction of the Clippers should it be necessary for one of them to land or take off in darkness. On the left, one of the floats which support the light standards, is tilted to show the shape.
