MANAWATU RACING CLUB

ACCEPTANCES TO-NIGHT Acceptances for the first day’s events at the Manawatu Racing Club’s summer meeting will close at 9 o’clock to-night with the secretary, Miss M. Buchanan, Box 52, Palmerston North. Excellent nominations were received for the meeting, which is to be held on December 27, 28 and 30, and it is anticipated that most of the horses entered will continue their engagements, providing first-class fields. Wananga, Tommy Atkins and Lady Siegfried were nominated for the Highweight at Awapuni on December 27, but they were not eligible, as the race is confined to qualified jumpers. The highweights on the second and third days are, however, also open to hacks.
