DOUBLE DROWNING
POLICE RECOVER BODIES OF TWO YOUTHS [ Per Press Association. ] INVERCARGILL, Dec. 17. While swimming in the Oreti River behind Mr. W. E. Hunt’s property at Wallacetown late this afternoon two youths, Henry Dale, aged 16, and # Mervyn Cook, aged 18, were drowned. I Their clothing was discovered on the bank of the river at 4.30 p.m. and the police were informed. Two constables organised dragging operations and the body of Dale was recovered at 7 p.m. and that of Cook at 10 p.m. It is believed that Dale got into difficulties and that Cook went to his i assistance.
