WHENUAKURA W.D.F.U. The final meeting of the Whenuakura W.D.F.U. took place on Tuesday, in the form of a social afternoon. Mrs J. Wynne presided, and welcomed a large number of visitors. Miss Marie Egan was congratulated on her success in producing the play, “Aunt Lizzie’s Friends/’ and was presented with a bouquet. The play was met with great approval and those portraying characters were Miss M. Egan, Mesdames A. Crawford, J. W. Williams, W. Parsons, L. Davidson, T. Back, and Miss B. Bourke. Competitions held were won by Mrs Smiles and Miss Duggan, and the hostesses to serve the dainty afternoon tea were Mesdames Allan and Prout. Mrs F. Parsons’ resignation as secretary was received with regret, and Mrs Sounness was appointed until the end of the year.
