Mr A. C. Ashford, manager of the Majestic Theatre, leaves to-day on a fortnight’s camping tour, visiting Taupo, Rotorua, and Tauranga.
Mr W. Frankish leaves Wanganui to-day to join the Ruahine at Auckland. Mr Frankish is travelling to England to join the Royal Air Force.
Mr R. G. Taiboys, of Wanganui, leh. yesterday for Wellington and will spend the week-end in Christchurch on business.
Mr. F. Hoyle, who is shortly leaving Wanganui for Melbourne, was farewelled by members of the Scafleld Golf Club at the annual meeting last evening.
Mr. W. E. Anderson (Auckland) has been appointed Employers’ Assessor and Mr. A. W. Croskery (Wellington) Workers’ Assessor on the second Arbitration Court). Deputy-assessors appointed are: Messrs. D. I. MacDonald (Christchurch), employers, and G. T. Thurston (Christchurch), workers. All four appointments were gazetted last night.—Press Association, Wellington.
