FAR EAST RELIEF FUND

£2039 IN SIGHT [ Ter Press Association. 1 WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. The amount received to date in the national appeal for the Far East Relief Fund, conducted by the joint council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society, was £1213 6s lOd, as reported by the national secretary, Mr. C. Meachen, at to-day's meeting of the council at Wellington. Advice had been received prior to the meeting that the approximate amounts raised in other centres would bring the total to date to £2039 13s 4d. The chairman of the council, Sir James Elliott, presided.
