BOY’S DEATH

ACCIDENT WITH RIFLE [ Per Press Association. ] INVERCARGILL, Nov. 17. The accidental discharge of a .22 calibre rifle caused the death of Duncan Boyd, aged 14, at Queenstown this afternoon. The boy, who was a son of Duncan Boyd, farmer, of Frankton, was staying with a friend who is said to have picked up the rifle which his father used to shoot birds In a strawberry garden. He was showing Boyd how it worked when it went off, the bullet entering Boyd’s neck.
