DEATH AT SEA

RESIDEN T OF DEY ON PORT I Ter Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 17. Following a brief illness the death occurred ol a tourist-class passenger, Mr. Joseph George Wayne, of Devonport, when the liner Rangitata was approaching Panama on her voyage from London to New Zealand. Mr. Wayne, who was travelling alone, was to have been met by his family upon the arrival of the ship at Auckland. Representatives of the ship’s company and a number of passengers assembled on the deck in the morning for the burial service. The last rites were performed by Archdeacon Jermyn in association with the Bishop of Christchurch, the Right Rev. West-Watson, both of whom were returning by the Rangitata from a visit to England.
