“POACHING” DEPLORED.
RUGBY LEAGUE LOSSES AUSTRALIAN COMPLAINT “N.Z. BOUND TO SUFFER" SYDNEY, Nov. 16. At the New South Wales Rugby League meeting criticism was expressed with regard to the poaching of Australian players by wealthy English clubs, which led to the indifferent display by the present touring Australian team and falling off of attendances in Australia. It was decided to recommend the Australian Board of Control to ask the English Rugby League to reimpose the ban on the importation of Australian players. The opinion was expressed that New Zealand was bound to suffer in the same way, and it was therefore decided to seek the co-operation of the New Zealand League in the reimposition of the ban.
