RANGITIKEI LADIES’ GOLF CLUB The 1937 golf season will close on Thursday, when Canadian foursomes will be played, the draw taking place at the clubhouse at 12.45 p.m. An approaching and putting competition will follow. WEEK-END CRICKET A team from the Wanganui Boys’ Cricket Association visited Bulls during the week-end, and defeated Bulls by 28 runs. The visitors won the toss and batted first, Holtz retiring with 61 runs, after tiring the local bowlers. Jeffrey (30), Waters (17), and McCarthy (15) also batted attractively and the total reached 163. For Bulls, Meads took 4 for 38. Bulls replied with 135 (O’Connell 35. Adams 27, Hart not out 26, and Meads 23). Jeffrey was the most successful trundler, taking live tail-enders for 22 runs. Scores are as follows:
