WANGANUI CLUB OPENING MEETING GOOD FIELDS A FEATURE. The opening meeting of the Wanganui Greyhound Racing Club was held on Spriggens Park on Saturday. Events were run smoothly and close races ensued in most events. Previous meetings run in Wanganui were marred by frequent breakdowns of the mechanism which actuated the “hare,” but the new electrical I machine built locally has eliminated this trouble. All events were run over a 300yds. course. At the conclusion of the races owners of winning dogs were presented with trophies by Mr. W. J. Rogers, Mayor of Wanganui, who spoke briefly on the aims of the club.
