ARMAMENT ORDERS
EXPENDITURE IN BRITAIN. 288 MILLION POUNDS. [ British Official Wireless.] RUGBY, Nov. 5. Speaking at Darwen (Lancashire), the Rt. Hon. Sir Thomas Inskip, Minister for Co-ordination of defence, said that within the past two years orders had been placed for £288,000,000 worth of armaments. Twenty-six special establishments, either Government-owned factories or extensions by the Government of existing works, had been erected for Admiralty purposes, 17 for the Army the Air Force.
