PLEASANT FUNCTION WANGANUI EAST NURSING AND CADETS The combined social o£ the Wanganui East Nursing and Ambulance Cadets was held on Wednesday night, when games and community singing were enjoyed, and prizes presented to the winners. The Hawkins Shield (his. year was won by Mr W. Raine. In presenting the trophy, Mr Hawkins remarked on the good work done in the division by Superintendent J. E. Wilton and his ofliccrs. He was gratitied to see the division growing in numbers and expressed the wish to donate another trophy for the holder of the shield to always retain. Mrs Moore said that she was going to donate a medal for the best boy. Supper was provided by the ladies, and a very successful evening was brought to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." The music for the evening was provided by Mr J. Simpson.
