HIGH JINKS AT OXFORD

ex-editor of the Isis, Oxford University’s undergraduate paper, has revealed that some of the goings on at Oxford arc not exactly in accordance with the strictest rules of propriety. This is nothing new in university life, although the introduction of a larger number of women undergraduates makes Oxford life more picturesque than when the men used to rush up to London for week-ends. That the presence of a well-dressed, good-look-ing woman undergraduate should be a disturbing influence at Oxford proves only that the citadel of lost causes is no exception to the general rule in that respect. There are about 5000 undergraduates in residence at Oxford, some purposeful, and some so rich that it doesn’t matter much whether they succeed in gaining degrees or not, and these student-playboys and girls will play anywhere.
