REGENT THEATRE

“THE GO-GETTER” Packed with action and full o 1 thrills, comic and intriguing in dialogue and situations, “The Go-Getter,’ 1 Warner Bros.’ latest and finest release brings to the Regent Theatre an outstanding piece of entertainment. The film has a robustness that could not fail to captivate, but the acting of its principals raises it far above the ordinary standard of screen entertainment. Charles Winninger, of "Show Boat” and “Three Smart Girls,” takes the honours in a difficult but outstanding role. George Brent gives one of his best performances as the ’’GoGetter” and Anita Louise plays with great distinction the feminine lead. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Peter B. Kyno. Winninger’s acting is alone enough to carry the film to the forefront.

“Marked Woman.”

Bette Davis is featured in “Marked Woman,” which heads the new programme for Saturday at the Regent Theatre. She plays one of half a dozen night-club girls who are forced by their over-lord,, a racketeer who buys the place, into helping him ta rob the patrons, both by overcharging and by luring them into his gambling rooms. This big boss is played by Eduardo Ciannelli, who was so sensational in both stage and screen versions of “Winterset.”
