Meteorological Office, Wellington, Wednesday, October 27, 3 p.m. General Situation.—The last of the present series of depressions is moving eastwards off the Dominion and an anti-cyclone is approaching across the Tasman.
Forecast. Winds: Southerly to south-easterly, strong at times C . ook stralt an,t on the east coast but gradually decreasing and Otherwise light to moderate in force. Seas (New Zealand waters): ■ y, K ‘ r ™ u , g!l t 0 rough but later decreasing south of East Cape and in the Cook Strait area, rather rough but decreasing north of Cape •gmont, and elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea' Moderate to fresh but decreasing south-easterly or southerly winds' f 1 consldegab,c southerly swell but otherwise moderate seas' Weather: Fine in western districts and the interior of the South Island, elsewhere changeable and with passing showers in many places, especially in eastern districts between Cook Strait and East Cape A gradual improvement is, however, probable.
