SHORT SERVICE COMMISSIONS SELECTION OF CANDIDATES [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Oct. 13. The following candidates have been selected for short service commissions in the Royal Air Force and leave for England on December I:—A. S. Dind (Christchurch), F. E. Eustace (Wellington), J. D. Farmer (Trentham), A. Frame (Oamaru), C. R. Frankish (Wanganui), W. B. Grieves, C. L. R. Heywood, R. H. Land, G. W. Sutton and E. V. Sendel (Auckland), B. L G. Harker (Wairoa), and A. S. Luxmoore (Feilding). The following have been selected for short service commissions in the R.A.F. and R.N.Z.A.F., and undergo eight months’ preliminary training ir. New Zealand, eight then to. be sent to England and four to. be retained for the R.N.A.F.:—W. F. Dawson (Balclutha), T. M. de Lange, W. 3. Rea and F. D. Smith (Auckland); R. W. Gair (Napier); T. F. Gill and S. G. Quill (Wellington); L. H. Higgins and L. G. Lilly (Dunedin); B. I. C. Jones (Eltham); R. D. Max (Nelson), and J. D. Murphy (Riverlea).
