NEW ZEALAND FEDERATION Ol’ UNI VERSIT k \ V OM LN SCHEME FOR CREATING A TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP In order to encourage travel and study abroad, which is one of the ideals of the International Fcdeiation of University Women, the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Federation has set itself the task of raising funds for a scholarship by which New Zealand women graduated may be enabled to pursue their studies in some country other than their own. The need for such a scholarship has been felt for some time, and now when more than ever it is desirable
; for women of education and interna- , tional outlook to make contact with women of different nationalities, the 'first definite step towards filling the need is being made. Dunedin, this : year the Dominion headquarters, is 'setting the example in the hope- that the other university centres may fuij low suit. i The scholarship will be allotted to j the most suitable applicant—for preference a graduate who has already ' made her mark in the field of work m which she has been negaged since i leaving the University, who will benei fit by the travel and study abroad, ■who will be a good representative of •New Zealand, and who will, on her ireturn, bring hack to the Dominion [the fruits of her overseas experience. ;The number of graduates who benefit from the scholarship will depend on [the amount of money at the federation’s disposal.
