MARATHON DUEL
LASTS FIFTY-ONE ROUNDS BUDAPEST, Aug. 23. What is believed to bo the longest duel in history was fought by Chief Engineer Zboropjaj and Dr. Preuler, fencing expert. The duel lasted two and a-half hours. They used light cavalry sabres. Both were wounded early in the combat, and again in the twelfth round when the seconds wanted to stop the fight, which continued until the fifty-first round, when it was declared ended owing to the exhaustion of the duellists. The duel originated over an argument at a meeting.
