WEDDING

DAVIS—PARKER The wedding was celebrated at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, on June 23, of Irene Evelyn, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Parker, who was married to Donald Alexander, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Davis. The bride’s gown of white duchess satin was simply cut and had leg o’ mutton sleeves and a long train. Real white gardenias held the embroidered veil, which was worn well back from the forehead. An armsheaf of regal lilies was carried. The bride entered the church with her father. Misses Rosa Austin and Fay Davis, as bridesmaids, wore princess styled frocks of white silk dimity over satin, with large puff sleeves, and hemlines caught up at one side to show the tiny frills on the satin slips. Scarlet ribbons finished their organdie muffs and scarlet roses formed the coronets they wore. Mr. Jack Lewis was the best man and Mr. Fred Parker, brother of the bride, officiated as groomsman. At the reception held at the Rendezvous, the guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Parker, the latter wearing a black ring velvet ensemble ano black velour hat with white quill. She held a bouquet of red flowers. The bridegroom’s mother was in a brown ensemble and hat and carried a bouquet of freesias and hellibore.
