B team travelled to Hawera to play St. Joseph’s Old Girls, who defeated them by 30 goals to 15. LADIES’ GOLF CLUB. The annual reunion of the Patea Returned Soldiers was held on Saturday evening in the Town Hall supper room, with the president, Surgeon Capt. W. T. Simmons in the chair, and about 80 attending. The toast list honoured was “The King,’’ “Absent Comrades," “R.S.A. Association” proposed by the Mayor, Mr. F. Ramsbottom; replied to by Dr. Simmons and. Mr. F. W. Locker; “Navy, Army, Air Force," proposed by Mr. E. F. Hemingway, replied to by Messrs. L. P. Clarke, F. W. Locker and J. C. Cunniison; “Our Visitors," proposed by Dr. Simmons, replied to by Dr. Graves, Messrs. L. Walters, L. Ritchie and C. Harrison. “The Ladies,” proposed by Mr. G. R. Taylor; replied to by Mr. A. Carey; "The Artists,” proposed by Mr. N. Coad; "The Press,” proposed by Mr. J. Cunningham, replied to by Mr. E. F. Hemingway. Messrs. K. Sharp, A. Carey, R. Johnston and R. Darbyshire comprised a "Diggers’ Orchestra,” and rendered war-time marches and led community singing throughout the evening. Items were given by the “Waiata Four,” Messrs. Allright, Pratt, Malone and C. Roberts, of Hawera; songs, Mr. I. Jones; songs, Mr. Joe Crawford; piano solos, Mr. Don; trumpeter, C. Simmons rendered the “Last Post,” and Mr. Allright the “Requiem.” HERD TESTING. PATEA MAY RETURNS. The above association reports for May as follows: Group Average.
