WANGANUI SALE A LIGHT YARDING MESSRS F. R. JACKSON’S REPORT Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on yesterday’s stock sale:—Owing to having to advance the sale a day this week, entries were light in all sections, with vealers, of which there was a heavy yarding, being the exception. The attendance was only a moderate one, butchers being the only buyers catered for and the only buyers interested. Prices generally were on a par with last week. Sheep Fat ewes, 235; light, 18s, 19s 9d; prime lambs, 30s; light, 18s, 21s; fattening ewes, 10s 6d. Cattle Fat cows, £5 15s, £6 10s; light, £3 10s, £5 ss; good boners, £2 ss, £3 ss; boners, £1 10s, £2; yearling Jersey heifers, 26s 6d, £2 Is; dairy cows, close up, to £7; springing heifers, £3 10s, £5 ss. Pigs Heavy porkers, 335, 37s 6d; porkers, 265, 30s; light, 225, 255; stores, 10s, 15s; slips, Bs, 12s 6d. Vealers All good Jersey-cross runners, best, £3 ss, £3 15s; good, £2 10s, £3 2s 6d; average, £2, £2 10s.
