I WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL. pUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a special meeting of the Wanganui City Council held on Tuesday, the 25th day of May, 1937, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at a special meeting of 1 he CounIcil to be held on Tuesday, the 22nd ; day of June, 1937, at 7.30 o'clock p.m., |in the Wanganui City Council Cham- : hers, St. Hill Street, Wanganui, namely:— THAT the Wanganui City Council doth hereby by special resolution (intended to operate as a Special Order) make the following By-law to be known as “The Wanganui City By-law No. 12.”: The Wanganui City Council hereby makes and ordains (by Special Order) the following By-law under and by virtue of and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933” and of all other Acts powers and authorities in anywise in that behalf enabling the Council: 1. —The short title of this By-law Is The Wanganui City By-law No. 12.” It shall be read with and form part of The Wanganui (Borough) City Bylaw No. 1 and shall come into operation on the 30th day of June 1937. 2. Section 833 of The Wanganui (Borough) City By-law No. 1 is hereby amended in manner following: By adding at the end thereof the following proviso: "Provided further that any approval given by the Town Clerk for the erection of any tombstone headstone or other monument thereon shall be in writing and shall only be given upon production of the receipt or Certificate of the purchase of the plot or plots of ground affected or any duplicate receipt or Certificate issued under the provisions of By-law No. 830 of The Wanganui (Borough) City By-law No. 1 in respect of such plot or plots.” 3. —By repealing Clause 30 (b) of The Wanganui City By-law No. 11 and inserting or substituting in lieu thereof the following:— “Every bottle used as a container for milk for sale for human consumption shall be cleansed or sterilized in accordance with the following process, and after each occasion on which such bottle is so used before it is again used for the same purpose:— (a) First rinsed in cold water; then (b) Thoroughly washed in a warm suitable detergent solution; then (e) Thoroughly rinsed in hot water; then (d) Placed in a sterilizing chest and there subjected to steam at a temperature as indicated by a thermometer placed at the bottom of the chest of not less than 210 deg. F. for a period of not less than fifteen minutes; and then (e) Removed from the sterilizing chest and placed neck downwards in a dust-proof compartment to drain; 2. Provided that any other method of sterilization by boiling or steam may be used which gives a residual bacterial plate count of not more than one per c.c. of bottle capacity, and provided further that such method is approved by the Medical Officer of Health. Provided further that, subject to the approval of the Medical Officer ot Health, an alternative method of sterilization by means of chlorine compounds may be used on condition that the process is wholly mechanically effected that no residual chlorine compound remains in any bottle at the [completion of the process, and that i the process ensures a residual bacterial plate count of not more than one per c.c. of bottle capacity." j A copy of the said By-law is deposited at the office of the Town Clerk, St. Hill Street, Wanganui, and | is open to the inspection of the public during office hours.
