OBITUARY
MR. JOHN SMITH I Per Pres* Association. ] INVERCARGILL, June 7. The death occurred at Sydenham yesterday of John Smith, aged 67. one of the leading figures in the dairy industry in New Zealand. At the time of his death he was chairman of directors on the South Island Dairy Association. For eight years he was a director of the New Zealand Producers’ Marketing Association. He had been director and chairman of the Oware Dairy Factory Company for many years and ho had also taken a keen interest in the Farmers’ Union, having held the position of president of the Wyndham branch. He leaA a family of four sons and six daughters. His wife died some years ago.
