BOBBY CALF TRADE

ZONING ADVOCATED. OVERLAPPING BY CARRIERS. A remit recomending that bobby calves should be sold by weight, and that the trade should be zoned, was received from Matangi at a meeting of the Waikato executive of the Farmers’ Union to-day. Mr. F. C. Roberts said that as many as seven carriers were operating on one road at Te Kowhai, where two carriers could do all the work. The present position, he said, was ridiculous. It was decided to ask the DairyBoard to understake the zoning of the bobby calf business and to insist on payment being made by weight.
