REGENT THEATRE
"HISTORY IS MADE AT NIGHT." ‘‘History is Made at Night," now showing at the Regent Theatre, has everything that makes for stirring drama and first-class entertainment. As Paul, the rubane, eihcient headwaiter of the popular Parisian cafe. Charles Boyer excels even his usual | high standard. Supporting him are Jean Arthur, Colin Clive, and Leo I Carillo. The supports include newsreels, a sports subject, and a fine new Mickey Mouse cartoon. “The Big Noise." In “The Big Noise,” coming tomorrow to the Regent Theatre. Warner Bros, have produced one of those happy domestic comedies seen ail too iseldom on the screen. Guy Kibbee I makes of this film a challenge to I youth; a protest on behalf of age. De- ; posed from the presidency of his cloth mills because he will not approve the manufacture of a new and inferior synthetic material, he is persuaded to retire to a Californian sunshine resort for an old-age cure. But sitting about “here, there, or some other place" does not accord with the restless nature of Mr. Kibbee .and, under pretence of joining a club, he begins all over again in a dyeing and cleaning business. There is no dull moment in this energetic comedy. Warren Hull and Alma Lloyd make an attractive young couple, and Marie Wilson and a parrot provide plenty of humour. In “Road Gang” Donald Woods has the leading role of a newspaper correspondent sent to prison on a trumped-up charge. Kay Linakcr gives a splendid performance as the sweetheart of Woods.
