DIVORCE PETITION
AUCKLAND, June 2. “I was married in August, 1910. in response to a dying wish of mv first husband.” said Jean Mitchell Rea, in applying to the Supreme Court for a dissolution of her marriage with Thomas William Rea. Petitioner said there was one .son of the first marriage, now aged 30, but no children of the second marriage. The parties lived at Ka»i Kali, and Waihi. Petitioner said her married life with her second husband had been very unhapp}. He was a heavy drinxer and refused to work cn the farm, and had several times locked her out of the house. On another occasion he threatened Io kill her. Mr Justice Smith: What did he say? 1 clilicnei . He told me I would not the light of another day. He tno tit the throat and on another occasion h<- threatened to kill me. Petitioner said she left for Australia and had since supported her son ami had. not seen her husband for ten years. “This is a case in nhich the husband forced his wil«* from home, desertion, therefore, on the part of the husband.” said the .Judge.
