“LIVINGSTONE” FRIESIAN SALE
LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., Wanganui, report on the displenishing sale on account of Mr. W. J. Eames, “Livingstone,” Hunterville, as follows: The heifers came forward in good order and were offered to a fair attendance from Manawatu, Wanganui and Hawke’s Bay. Mr. Eames having had his whole hero under Government 'o.H.T. for many years, full records of 'production of all animals were avail|able. For the present season up to i April 20, cows have averaged 3471b5. fat in 239 days. The highest priced heifer “Livingstone Ormsby View,” daughter of the champion show cow “Livingstone Princess View,” was bought for 26gns. by Mr. Jas. McKnight, of Nukumaru, and is a heifer of first class type. The sale was highly successful, practically every lot being sold at satisfactory prices. In all, 19 animals (17 heifers and 2 bulls) were sold at an average price of 16gns. per head. Some of the top prices were:—Livingstone Ormsby View, 26gns., to Mr. Jas. McKnight, Nukumaru; Livingstone Olena Gem, 19igns., to Mr. J. H. Bartlett, Mangaonono; Livingstone Netherland Madge, 21gns., to Mr. F. L. Collins, Taoroa, Taihape; Livingstone Netherland Lady, 18gns., to N.Z. Loan Co. as agents; Livingstone Ormsby Molly, 174gns., to Mr. S. E. Algar, Taikorea; Livingstone Netherland Cora, 17gns., to Mr. J. Bartlett; and Livingstone Netherland Pansy, to Mr. S. E. Algar at 17gns. Two bulls were also sold at 20gns. and 184gns. respectively.
