FIREMAN’S PASSING

WEST COAST VETERAN MR. JAMES McKENDERY [ Per Association. ] WESTPORT, May 30. A life-long association with fire brigades on the West Coast was responsible for a large attendance of brigadesmen at the funeral to-day of James McKendery. Eighty brigadesmen. were present, six of whom, representing Kumara, Reefton, Denniston, Greymouth, Granity and Westport, acted as pall-bearers. The Municipal Bat':’, led the cortege and all local bodies and the Westport Fire Board were represented.
