Mr. A. S. Burgess was re-elected president at the annual meeting ot the Wanganui Aero Club on Saturday. Mr. B. M. Silk has been successful in passing the final examination of the Australian Institute of Secretaries (New Zealand Division). In the institute’s intermediate section, Mr. V. D. Benefield, of Wanganui, secured a sectional pass. The examinations were held last March. A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr. Duncan Mackintosh was passed at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Aero Club on Saturday. The president, Mr. A. S. Burgess, said that the late Mr. Mackintosh was one of the foundation members of the club. Constable F. J. Alexander, who for the past 10 years has been stationed at Wanganui, recently as watch-house keeper, and who leaves early this week on transfer to Moturoa (New Plymouth), was farewelled by his colleagues at the Central Station on Friday afternoon. In presenting him with a leather suitcase Inspector J. Lander remarked that during stay in Wanganui Constable Alexander had won the esteem not only of members ot the force, but of the public as well. He had rendered good service and his transfer to Motorua was a step forward in the department. Speakers who endorsed Inspector Lander’s remarks were Senior-Sergeant L. R. Capp, Sergeant R. J. Whiting, Detec-tive-Sergeant J. K. Robertson, Detective L. Packman and Constable J. R. Bissett. A handbag for Mrs. Alexander was also presented by Inspector Lander on behalf of members of the force in Wanganui.
