WANGANUI AMATEURS SATURDAY’S RACE Following is the result of the 16-mile race held on Saturday by the Wanganui Amateur Road Cycling Club:— Senior.—l. Danielson 1, L. Fields 2, H. Hodson 3, J. Clinton (43min. 28sec.) 1, R. King (43.28 1-5) 2, E. Payne (44.28 1-5) 3. Three’’ Wanganui selectors (Messrs A. Henwood (chairman), C. Mullany (Taihape), and S. R. Ambrose (Wanganui), will use it as a basis to select the representative team to play Manawatu at Wanganui on the morning of the King’s Birthday (June 9) as a prelude to the Wanganui race meeting. Manawatu will be here in full force for that morning match and Wanganui will need its strongest side in action in what promises to be a bright exposition of the code.—’ Crossbar.”

Back of scrum: Bridge (Old Boys), Middle row: Walker (Hunterville), captain, James (Bulls), Dallas (Hunterville), Tye (Halcombe). Front row: Davies (Halcombe), McDonald (Hunterville), Guppwell (Bulls). Reserves: Campbell (Bulls), outside back; W. Bush (Old Boys), inside back; Rowe (Hunterville) and Potaka (Bulls), forwards. Any players unable to make the trip are to notify the secretary of the union, Mr K. A. Williams (Marton), or the selector, Mr A. Henwood (Hunterville).
