RETIREMENT OF MINISTERS

BRITISH CABINET CHANGES BALDWIN AND RAMSAY MACDONALD RUNCIMAN MAY BE TRANSFERRED TO HOUSE OF LORDS NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN TO FORM GOVERNMENT IBy I :iegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received May 28, 11.55 p.m. LONDON, May 2b. Sitting well back in a motor-car, hatless, and smoking his pipe, Mr. Stanley Baldwin arrived at the Palace at 9.30 a.m., and immediately was ushered into the King's presence. He tendered his resignation and advised His Majesty to commission Mr. Neville Chamberlain to form a Cabinet. The King accepted Mr. Baldwin’s resignation and advice. There is considerable speculation in the Press regarding the composition on the new Government. Mr. J. Batnsay MacDonald visited the Palace yesterday morning, and it is .nderstood that he is retiring from the Cabinet, but will continue as a member of the House of Commons. In the lobbies of Parliament Mr. Walter Uunciman’s speech on Tuesday on trade policy is regarded as being his last speech in the House of Commons as President of the Board of Trade, and the likelihood of his transference to the House of Lords is discussed. It is stated that he will not be a member of the new Cabinet.
