APOLOGY

The Farmers’ Co-op. Meat Co., Ltd., wishes to tender apologies to the swimmer, Peter Mathieson, for his name appearing in an article last week containing advertising matter. A gentleman prominent in swimming circles here has pointed out that the article might give the impression that Mathieson consented to his name being used, and thus impair his prospects as an amateur. We wish to make it clear that the reference to Mathieson’s performance was comment on a matter of public interest, made without his knowledge or consent. We wish to thank the gentleman who drew our attention to the matter, and thus enabled us to remove a possible false impression. THE FARMERS’ CO-OP. MEAT CO., LTD.’ April 10. 1937.
