NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT AWARDS [ Per Press Association. 1 WELLINGTON, March 23. Four scholarships in veterinary science have been awarded this year by the New Zealand Government and three of the students selected have already left for Australia to commence studies at Sydney University Veterinary College. The other student intends to take a course at the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College, Edinburgh. The holders of the scholarships taking the veterinary course at Sydney are: lan G. Watt, M.Sc., Upper Hutt; Geo. Allan Thomson, Dunedin, and D. W. Newman, of Broadwood, Hoklanga. The fourth student, lan M. Brown, will leave New Zealand for Edinburgh in time to commence the course in October next.
These four awards complete the number of scholarships offered under the scheme announced by the Government early last year whereby young men were given an opportunJ >.v to qualify as veterinary surgeons.
