E. F. Hemingway, at yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board. i “These applications show that lhe country settlers are realising the advantages of consolidation and aie | anxious lo give their children lhe I best educational facilities available. At the request of the Awahuri parents the secretary addressed a meeting on March 2 on the advantages j| consolidation, the result being a unanimous request from parents for consolidation with Feilding until such time as the Rongotea central school plan can be brought into operation. “The applications for consolidation are now Decoming so numerous that I would recommend the board to “zone” the district at as early a date as possible so that an organised plan may be prepared for possible future consolidations. The scheme would require very careful consideration in view ot lhe probable extension of the intermediate school system.” The board instructed the secret a; y (Mr. G. N. Boulton) ana the senior inspector (Mr. Boden) to bring down a report on the proposal.
