GREYHOUND RACING
WANGANUI CLUB WEEK-END RESULTS Owing to the field-day at Dannevirke being postponed local greyhound owners did not, make the trip over the week-end. Racing was carried on as usual on the club’s course, Puriri Street, excellent racing being witnessed during the afternoon. The Dannevirke Club* will be over next week-end to test their dogs against the local dogs. The week-end results are as follow: Al Class, Club Trophy. First heat: Mrs F. H. McCartney’s Royal Fleet, 1; Mr E. J. Holly’s The Monk, 2; Mrs H. Ford’s Smoke Dellew, 3. Won by four lengths; three lengths. Second heat: Mr E. E. Holly’s Swagger Mick, 1; Mr F. H. McCartney's Flying Tackle, 2. Won by seven lengths. Final: Mrs F. H. McCartney’s Royal Fleet, 1; Mr E. J. Holly’s The Monk, 2; Mr F. H. McCartney’s Flying Tackle, 3, Mr E. E. Holly's Swagger Mick, 4. Won by one and a-nalf lengths; four lengths. A Class, Club Trophy. First heat: Miss M. Holly’s Wait and See, 1; Mr H. Higgs’ Movie Star, 2: Mr F. Hoskins’ Tukia, 3. Won by eight lengths; four lengths. Second heat: Mr E. E. Holly's Swagger Mick, 1; Mr F. Hoskins’ Silver Ring, 2; Mr J. Walsh’s Tiny, 3. Won by twelve lengths; one length. Final: Mr E. E. Holly’s Swagger Mick, 1; Miss M. Holly's Walt and See, 2; Mr H. Higgs' Movie Star, 3; Mr F. Hoskins’ Silver Ring, 4. Won by five lengths; three lengths. Club Hurdles (Club Trophy). First heat: Miss M. Holly's Wait and See, 1; Mr E. James’ Kai Tere, 2. Won by six lengths. Second heat: Mr H. Ford’s Rose Pink, 1; Mr H. Higgs' Movie Star, 2; Mr F. Hoskins’ Tukia, 3. Won by ten lengths; ten lengths. Final: Miss M. Holly’s Wait and See, 1; Mr H. Ford's Rose Pink, 2; Mr H. Higgs' Movie Star, 3; Mr E. James’ Kai Tere, 4. Won by five lengths; seven lengths. The presentation of trophies concluded the afternoon.
