In response to an offer by the New Zealand Red Cross Society to send a gift of meat or butter to distressed families in the flooded areas of America, Admiral C. T. Grayson, head of the American Red Cross, sent the following reply:— “Most grateful for your generous offer, but believe all the needs can be met through the funds subscribed in the United States. Thanks a thousand times.”
