HEALTH OF KING
RUMOURS DISCOUNTED REASSURING STATEMENT LONDON, Feb. 10. The postponement ot the Durbar prompted rumours that the King's health was causing grave concern, but these are groundless, states the NewsChronicle. “The King at present is in excellent health and spirits, and taking the strain of his new responsibilities calmly. Nevertheless, some concern is felt for the future in view of the heavy Coronation programme, as the King has reputedly not so great a capacity of endurance as the Duke of Windsor, and it is felt that the undue strain might have unfortunate consequences. His Majesty's medical advisers have recommended complete rest before and after the Coronation. Queen Elizabeth, who has had no serious illness since her childhood, is preparing for the Coronation by taking the maximum of possible rest daily.’’
