ARRIVAL AT SYDNEY N.S.W| GIFTS TOTAL £40,000. Received Feb. 11, 10.25 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 11. On his arrival aboard the Orion today, Lord Nullleld announced gifts to New South Wales large public hospitals, deaf, dumb and blind institutions, Fairbridge homes and several philanthropic organisations totalling £40,000. Hospitals for children have shared generously in the allocation, which has been worked out on a population basis, the major metropolitan hospitals receiving £2OOO to £5OOO. Lord Nuffield told pressmen that he had received great assistance from Mr. Justic Haise Rogers, who had been a fellow traveller, in preparing the list of gifts, working in conjunction with Mr. George A. Lloyd, who is Lord Nu (field's representative in Australia and New Zealand.
