ELECTRICAL STORM

SEVERE VISITATION [ Per Prem Association. 1 ASHBURTON, Feb. 11. A severe electrical storm, accompanied by heavy hail, passed over the country last evening. Lightning knocked a big hole in the chimney of the Blackbridge Cheese Factory. A farmer in the district, Mr G. A. Parsons, was knocked down while milking and all the cows in the shed likewise. The stock in the various paddocks were also knocked over. The whole telephone system at Hinds is out of order. Telephones were disorganised in the Ashburton Borough.
