GRESFORD PIT DISASTER

REPORT OF ENQUIRY CAUSE NOT ESTABLISHED [ British Official Wireless. ] Received Feb. 8, 8.50 p.m. RUGBY, Feb. 7. The report on the enquiry into the Greslord pit disaster in September, 1934, shows that the Commissioner has been unable to establish the cause of the explosion. Investigations were hampered by the impossibility of inspecting the section of the mine in which the outbreak of lire occurred and which is still sealed. Even now there are signs of dangerous heat in the section. The report makes suggestions for reducing some of the dangers which the enquiry revealed.
